Story: Situated along the primary corridor of University Center, the Easley is a cornerstone building welcoming patrons with a familiar presence anchored in the vernacular of Rock Hill’s identity.

The Easley is a four-story, type VA, wood-framed apartment building within the University Center development, nestled between downtown Rock Hill and Winthrop University. The design was reviewed and approved by the State Historic Preservation Office and reinforces the master development’s vision to root community in local history. Residents are provided picture framed views of the plant’s smokestacks from the elevator lobbies and rooftop terrace for daily connectivity back to what was once the heart powering Rock Hill’s automotive and textile mills. Most of the dwelling units include cantilevered, pre-fab metal balconies providing outdoor space and subtle contemporary accents to enhance the building’s historical design integrity.
